Canaan Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Christian organization founded in September 2015 by Fertil F. Dieujuste. Our mission is to change lives—both for this life and for eternity.
As a family of believers, we are committed to sharing the good news with men, women, and children throughout Haiti who have not yet heard the message of Christ. We rejoice as we witness God transforming individual lives and entire villages through His love.
For such a time as this, we come together to serve as His hands and feet. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we believe this work will continue to reach Haiti and extend to other nations around the world.
As the Word of God declares:
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the LORD of hosts.
(Zechariah 4:6)

We believe the Bible is the verbally inspired, inerrant Word of God. It is the complete revelation of His will for salvation and the only unfailing rule of faith and practice for the Christian life.
We believe in one God, the Creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—co-eternal and of equal dignity and power.
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ: His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal, imminent return.
We believe humanity was created by and for God. Through disobedience, all people incurred spiritual death (separation from God) and physical death, and all are sinners by nature and by choice.
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins, and that all who believe in Him are declared righteous through His sacrificial death and restored to right relationship with God.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who indwells all believers and empowers them for godly living and faithful service.
We believe in the bodily resurrection of all people: the everlasting blessedness of those in right relationship with God, and the eternal separation of those who reject God’s forgiveness through His Son.

I was born in Haiti. I’ve been happily married to my lovely wife, Marie, for over 26 years. Through these years, the Lord has entrusted us with five beautiful children (Freida, Fertil III, Hannah, Alyiah, and Makayla). I responded to the Lord’s call to serve Him in full-time ministry in 2010 while I was a manager for Publix Super Markets in Miami, Florida. Prior to this call, my wife and I participated in many short-term mission trips in Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Nicaragua.
My wife and I received our undergraduate degrees from South Florida Bible College, then left South Florida in the fall of 2012 to attend seminary at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (NOBTS). I graduated with an M.Div. degree in Church Planting, and my wife graduated in December 2017 with a Master’s in Discipleship from NOBTS.
In the summer of 2014, the Lord reminded us of the countless millions in Haiti still waiting to learn of His love for them. In response, I organized a mission trip to a village in Haiti called Lacroix St. Joseph in July 2015 with some other Haitian natives, and out of this mission trip, a church was born with the 65 souls that received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.
Today, we have a church (Canaan Baptist Church) with more than 165 born-again believers. I’m the founder and director of Canaan Inc., a nonprofit Christian organization created solely to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to millions in Haiti.
A month prior to his graduation, Fertil F Dieujuste was awarded by the seminary (NOBTS) for outstanding Church Planting student.
